How to pick the BEST gray wall paint

Working in clients homes daily, picking the right gray color is the biggest question I get. One of my biggest tips – Pick out 4 of your favorite gray colors, buy a sample pot for every color, pick a room where you can easily see all 4 walls standing in the middle of the room, paint a swatch of each color on each wall. Sherwin Williams has really nailed it with their grays. Here is my list of fav gray wall paint colors and how they will fit best in your home.

SW Repose gray is by far the most popular. It just doesn’t have any crazy undertone colors. It is a true gray. It pairs really well with Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee for trim and baseboards. SW Acier is in the same tone family and makes for a great accent color.

SW Agreeable Gray is another for sure loved color. It takes a true gray a little into the greige side. I wouldn’t exactly call it a greige. It has a tiny bit of beige undertone. Still another easy pick to go well with other tones without having to worry about the undertone. SW Keystone Gray is a great fit for an accent color.

SW Accessible beige is a true greige, on the beige side. Do you still have a lot of earth tones in your house and don’t plan on changing them anytime soon? Granite countertops, off whites and browns backsplash? Accessible beige will let you have that gray you are dying for but wont make your other earth tones look dull and outdated.

If you are looking for a cooler gray tone, SW Gray Screen has a subtle blue undertone while keeping its gray tone. SW Network gray is a great accent wall color.
